Many people swear by wedding planners. If you are planning a wedding and paying somebody to do everything, you aren”t alone. More and more people are using wedding planners because they believe that they are a sure fire way to avoid all the stress and anxiety of your wedding. However, there are some that believe that wedding planners aren”t really that necessary. Whichever side of the fence you fall on this issue, here are some things you should know about wedding planners. Things they definitely don”t want you to know.

First of all, whatever they are charging you, you could do yourself for free. Sure, you”d worry a bit more without them, but you really could do it yourself. Most of the time when you hire somebody, it’’s to do something that you are incapable of doing yourself. The only exception is if you have your own personal cook or maid. If that’’s the case, then you are rich, and you shouldn”t really worry about spending the extra cash on a wedding planner anyway.

Another thing to think about is that while your wedding planner is planning your wedding, she is likely planning about twenty other weddings at the same time. That means that her resources are limited, as is her time. You may think that she is giving you her undivided attention, but in reality she may be thinking about her next appointment. If you ever deal with more than one client at a time, then you know how confusing it can get.

Your wedding planner will, of course, recommend vendors for you, like your caterer, flower supplier, and photographer. But did you know that they are likely giving her a kickback? Meaning that she is choosing them because she can make some money back from them. Not because they are objectively the best that money can buy.

This one is tough to swallow, but wedding planners generally don”t adore their clients. Remember, they do this several times a year, and everybody they deal with is gearing up to be queen for a day. That means they are likely fed up with people with unrealistic demands. To her, you are just another client which represents a paycheck.

Nobody is perfect, including wedding planners. Have you always been perfect in your job? Of course not. Nobody has. That means there are plenty of people whose weddings were messed up, at least in part, because the wedding planner made a mistake. Keep this in mind.

So you see, wedding planners aren”t perfect angels sent from heaven to ensure you have the perfect wedding. They are in business, just like everybody else, trying to make some cash. While we don”t recommend you forgo wedding planners altogether, keep this article in mind.
