6 Ideas For Fish Theme Weddings

Couple of weeks ago, a long-time friend asked me for ideas on planning fish theme weddings. Compared to beach theme weddings, fish theme weddings also share some similarities.

Now, maybe one of your spouses may like to fish. If you are not into fishing, then planning a fish theme can be a challenge.

Let me share some ideas on how to plan a fish theme wedding.

  1. A wedding cake in the hands of the baker can be versatile. On the top of the cake, place an airbrushed bass fish topper with chocolate fishing tools. You can use a 5-gallon fish aquarium. Decorate it with colorful river stones and pebbles. Put in a few colorful freshwater fishes. Place the cake on the top of the aquarium. In addition, you can display a picture of both of you on a fishing trip behind the aquarium.
  2. You can decorate the reception hall with pictures of fishes and fish theme balloons. Paint the wall with a two-tone blue color. In the background, engage a jazz group to play some soft music.
  3. On the serving tables, place an open tackle box with gold fish crackers and gummie worms. You can place space bobbers and lures along the table. At the corner of the table, you can add a few fishing poles.
  4. Whatever theme you plan, you can source for wedding favors to go along with it. For fish theme weddings, you can use wedding favors such as fish, river sand, and rocks.
  5. For games, you can use a pinata. It should not be a problem to get a fish theme pinata.
  6. Food can be expensive especially for fish theme weddings. If your budget is tight and you still want to serve seafood, I suggest that you serve them as the appetizers instead of the main course.
